Is my mom an alcoholic?

My Mom has a drink in hand like all the time. Family dinners, Christmas, Sunday, breakfast. No matter what the occasion, there is always an occasion in her mind. Does this make her an alcoholic?

It sounds like the occasion to put the drink down is now. She can be hurting herself (liver) by drinking all the time. Sometimes alcoholics don’t even get drunk anymore, but still keep drinking. If she is drinking first thing in the morning her body is needing it, telling me yes she is an alcoholic.
