My sister is addicted to opiates and I am trying to convince her to stop using them. She is afraid it is going to take her weeks to detox. How long will the withdrawal from the opiates really take?

The most intense parts of detoxing from opiates take place the first few days that the person goes without using. Within two weeks the opiates are out of their system and the addiction will only be mental.
