I really want to be off xanax but everyone keeps telling me I can’t just quit. ugh I need to know how long the withdrawal symptoms last. I’m pretty sure I can handle it.

Cold turkey withdrawal from xanax can take easily a month or more. But I think you need to listen to your friends and seek some help to taper off and drug.
