Considering the options on how to best help an individual in my life that is addicted to drugs and searching for some insight.

From my experience, it is clear that we can offer those in our lives with drug addiction support for recovery and resources to treatment. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the mind or desires of someone whos addicted to drugs.

Its like the question everyone is asking is what can I do to help him or her stop doing drugs and being a drug addict, however I am sad to say there is rarely anything you can do for a drug addict unless they actually want help. Now with saying this, I need to clarify that nothing in this life is black and white or a sure yes or no.

The best thing you can do is take care of yourself. That doesn't mean to cast them aside like yesterday's trash, but realize there's a limit to what you can do. Offering support for their decision to get treatment is something you can definitely do, but at the end of the day, the decision to keep using drugs is their decision.
