How addictive is xanax compared to other drugs?

Someone I know has been on xanax for the last month and says it is better than other drugs so not to fret. Needing to know how addictive xanax is compared to other drugs?

It is my belief that any central nervous system depressants inlcuding xanax which is a benzodiazepine and also barbiturates are in a category of the top addictive drugs on the market today. In comparison to other drugs, xanax is brutal and too addictive to be taking whether approved by a physician or not.
