Do addicts ever change

I am beginning to think that addicts are horrible people and they will never change. I used to be optimistic about it but I am not sure I can be anymore.

The background to your question is low spirited. I have no question as to if an addict can change and it hurts my heart for you that you obviously are in a spot where you cant see the light at the end of the day. Having faith for addictions slaves to recover and change the beaten down life addiction forces us to live. Sounds to me like you need to do a thing or two for yourself and get your mind and heart back in sync.
