Was prescribed tramadol and told I shouldn’t be too concerned about addiction, because it has less of an addiction risk than hydrocodone and other drugs like that.

You can definitely get addicted to Tramadol. Which begs the question- is tramadol an opioid? Yes. It is an Opioid! I remember a fw years back my doctor gave it to me as a non-narcotic pain killer. Which is was a non narcotic back then. Im glad the FDA made the decision to re-evaluate the drug, classifying it as an opioid.

Tramadol is just as addictive as Oxycodone and other Opiates. You may as yourself, is Tramadol and opiate? It wasnt considered an opiate until a few years ago. A lot of people ended up getting addicted so I think big Pharma did some thinking and changed it!

I abused Tramadol for years, even before it was classified as a narcotic. I ended up going to the hospital because I took to many Tramadol painkillers one day! I felt weak when I was in the hospital and ended up doing some research which made me feel less embarrassed! According to American Addiction Centers, there were 54,000 emergency room visits in 2011 for Tramadol abuse! One of those 54,000 is me. If youre thinking Tramadol is less addictive than other opiates, be sure to do some research. Youre better off leaving the drug with the doctor or your friends. It can really mess your life up! https://www.recovery.org/topics/tramadol-facts
