Can you get addicted to pot?

I'm close to an individual who's smoked pot every day for the last 3 years. He tells me about the problems he is having in just normal daily living. I realize pot is not the most hardcore drug on the market, but is it possible that he is addicted to it?

People get addicted to pot all the time.. At least the people around me do.
