Can a person be addicted to weed?

Hey, I got my weed card for pain purposes because they didn't think it was addicting but now I'm kind of worried could I end up a hopeless marijuana addict. That is the last thing I want to happen I'd rather just deal with the pain.

Yeah some people get addicted to it but some don't. Some of my friends are so addicted they have sold everything they own just to keep smoking pot.
