I have struggled with alcohol and drugs for over 10 years and I have successfully completed two 30 day treatment programs and an IOP program. I have been in and out of the rooms of AA as well. Despite that I just could not stop drinking. This program got to my root cause of drinking and focused on what I had been covering up and running from. I truly feel like a changed man now. This program isn’t for someone that just wants to skate by bit someone that wants and needs to find a solution. It takes work and everyone there was amazingly incite full and they challenged me along the way. The program wasn’t about me staying 30 days and going home, it was about getting what I needed no matter how long it takes. I encourage anyone struggling to put Palmer lake on your list. This was my 3rd inpatient treatment program for alcoholism. I thought it would be just like the first two times but I was wrong. The program is structured to advance through different levels of care with a foundational emphasis in the beginning and much deeper therapy and processing later. This approach not only kept things fresh but also allowed me to gain more insight into myself than anything else I’ve done before. The staff cares a great deal about our well being and health and did everything they could to help us in our journey in recovery. Thank you to all the BHTs, nurses, medical providers, and therapists. Donald the BHT made my first night as comfortable as he could while I was going through awful alcohol withdrawals and talked with me at 3am to try to make me feel calmer. Dawn provided a great deal of help in working with me and my spouse in therapy sessions. Lexie, Cindy and Rob are all amazing group therapists who deserve recognition. Without those three in groups helping me dig deep into my thoughts, feelings, and emotions, I would not have left in the mindset I did. I owe them a huge debt for helping to save my life through such emotionally intense yet compassionate group sessions as well as taking the time after groups to help me one on one during their own time.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Palmer Lake. System seemed a little too rigid at first, but made sense as time went on. Therapist And case manager Ashley are both wonderful and very helpful. BHT’s, nurses, and staff are mostly all very helpful as well. Group therapists Lexi and Cindy are incredible; this is my 7th inpatient treatment and I learned more here than any of the others combined.

This place is not professional at all. My husband checked in for a week. I called once to get info on his status since they dont allow patients to use their phones and they were rude and wouldn\'t give me any information, I just wanted to know how hes doing. When he checked out they claimed that they lost his brand new Puma shoes (stolen probably). A friend he made while in there, well they lost his wallet! Come on, you call this professional? Even jails dont lose your stuff! Withdrawal symptoms weren\'t managed properly either, wouldn\'t recommend to anyone

My husband went to recovery village less then a month ago. He has already relapsed twice!! I tried to email his consular, Joel, after the first relapse to see if there was anything we could do to help get my husband out patient support, I have yet to hear back from him and it has been a month. My husband was just a number there! Biggest waste of money! Also it is not very clean it smells like Formaldehyde in the hall to the therapist offices and what used to be a fountain in the Cafeteria is so dirty and disgusting to look at. Absolutely would not recommend they also have 0 family support when on the phone originally with admissions they offered family counseling. Joel informed me that “family counseling” was misleading and that’s not actually what they offer in the one meeting I was allowed to go to. I am Very disappointed! I do not recommend at all!!!!!

This place didn\'t save my life but it gave to the opportunity and the tools to save my own. I\'ve struggled with addiction for more than half my life. The people here went out of their way to help me here. Helped Men rediscover myself and discover the reason I use over and over again despite the suffering its caused. The community is comfortable and you see people of all ages doing amazing work themselves and helping everyone else by doing so. I needed help getting into the after care best for me. The case manager there Ashley A. Helped me fight for a single case with my insurance to get proper after care . Tina S. The clinical director and my therapist Ashley B. Helped aswell fighting my insurance to get me what I needed. And I got it. Staff here care for you and treat you like a regular person The group therapist cindy white and Lexi and kynzi aswell as Kathy and Tony will help you find out things about yourself that you never thought were relevant to the way you live but are very much so linked to your behavior. All the behavioral technicians and doctors are very kind and humane people aswell. I will tell anybody to go here if they need help . It\'s amazing if you let it be and are ready to change your life

Detox was great so that was great....after they sent me to the hospital by ambulance overly doped up after a nurse told another nurse to stop pumping me full of drugs every 2 hrs, not to mention on top of that, they gave me Trazadone which I told them I was allergic to it. In the beginning most staff were great and helpful to get you there. But......when you HAVE to leave, your garbage! They no longer care about you and can care less what happens to you which if ever needed, hope not but will never refer them or return. Dozens also were referred from the Florida call center were given false info for this facility including me. They told us there was horse back riding, messages, pool, don\'t pay until you leave (but yet told a elderly woman that she had to come up with $1500 or she had to leave), you can smoke if your stressed out after smoking hours etc.... None of that was provided. Plus smells like sewer water and the food is not fresh. The kitchen admitted they order it frozen and that\'s why the meat is dry. You can tell which staff really care and who just wants a pay check. Mark the minister/BHT, Jessica/BHT, Alex/BHT, and a few others deserve kudos. Reconsider this place and search for another. Made many friends there to help with recovery and will for ever have a place in my heart.
