This place is a money driven organization first and foremost! Do not be mislead by the initial show of caring by either the administrative intake coordinator (Tonda) or the administration director (Ambreen) or the psychologists and psychiatrists or the elusive medical director (Dr Small). I repeat, it doesn't take long to realize that they have little concern for your wellbeing- after all, once there you have already handed over from 60K, all the way to 90K and up for "treatment". Please. The unlicensed medical employees are nice but have to ask the all mighty doctors for any and all of your requests and simple questions. Also, beware! As a medical professional, they skimp on paying LVNs or RNs to dispense controlled and non controlled medications!Many of these meds are newly prescribed by your (conveniently) unreachable psychiatrist, and have significant side effects. Without a medical professional to monitor your reaction to the new psychotropic medications you are at risk of anything from headaches to being critically ill. I am hopeful to one day hear about a law suit against this illegal practice. I have called the CA department of Health to report this unsafe behavior. I have called the facility numerous times, left messages and falsely told I would get my medical records and the 5 thousand they took for a dog deposit. I never had a dog and was lied to about the return of the funds. It has taken an MD to call to request these things to get some responses. I'm still not holding my breath. At one point, the intake director, Tonda, obviously knew my phone number and answered with a very rude "hello", rather than the professional reception you get as a first time caller. If you want great food though and an excellent massage, well look no further! Their cooks were not only the only kind and real people, but they were amazing and talented chefs. Not surprisingly, I discovered they were treated very unkindly and paid (if they were even paid on time) extremely low wages. Seriously, I felt like I was in the twilight zone....and no, I wasn't psychotic or hallucinating. I have many more complaints regarding this facility and I'd be open and willing to answering questions and elaborate if you are looking at checking into this facility. You would be better off taking a small percentage of their price and going to Thailand on a self discovery tour. By the way, this review was actually nice. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Above all, it is not SAFE regarding the dispensing of serious medications without licensed staff and nobody to monitor after the almighty medical staff vacated for the day. Please, do not throw your money away ( of course, no medical insurance is accepted and all payment is due before you arrive) I write this for those who really need a good, safe and nurturing environment in order to work with and learn about your mental illness.

I can’t say enough about Bridges To Recovery! Whatever they’re doing – they’re doing it right. They really helped my sister turn her life around. She had been in and out of a couple of other facilities for years mainly because of her addiction issues but BTR was finally able to get through to her. She loved her individual therapist Dr. Strang and the other young people she met there so much my parents and I were worried that she wouldn't want to come home. I would truly recommend Bridges to Recovery to anyone who is currently suffering or has a family member suffering from a mental illness.

It was a very successful program, I obtained a lot of useful information regarding addiction as well as relapse prevention. I would recommend the program to anybody struggling with substance abuse or addiction. The staff was very welcoming and I became very close to all of my fellow patients. I was thoroughly satisfied with my experience at Bridges to Recovery Recovery.

Not only did I get misdiagnosed but they put me on meds that gave me PANIC ATTACKS. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, which I have, but turns out I have cyclothymia which even their precious little experts couldn't figure out. They took me off the only medication that has every worked for me for NO REASON and put me on a medication that is barely proven for anxiety or depression (and is mostly used for CATS). When I was getting more and more depressed and suicidal at the center and wanted to leave no one would listen to me and they all got angry at me whenever I tried to explain myself. They hold different patients to different standards which is so messed up and some of the staff are highly untrained and unprofessional. It felt like we were either being always watched or left completely alone. It is a beautiful place, and it is helpful to some people but they really think they are perfect for everyone and it seems to be all about the money. I wish I never went there.
