Blythe and the rest of my problems.

I wouldn’t even give it 1 star. The only good staff member there was my therapist Claire. I was there early in 2016. And my name is Genesis. I was put into the ED program. Which had just started at the time. It was a mess. At one point the staff didn’t watch me well enough and I ended up getting alcohol poisoning. Don’t ask I was 17 and desperate. I was not taken care of and kids ran away every day. The dumb fences were just begging to be climbed. It felt like a prison. It did not feel safe.

This place caused me trauma. There for 68 days. Serious patient neglect from case managers. I do not recommend at all.

I was personally in this program and it wasn’t a bad experience at all yes it was far away from home but I was able to stay in touch with my family and the staff actually cared and wanted to help all the kids

Terrible place. Management makes so many mistakes and instead of taking responsibility they just blame the staff and fire them (which is why they have such a high turnover rate). House managers gossip with the kids about other kids. The 1 good recent review you see on here is from the owners personal friend who was able to get his son admitted for free.

Only posted a rating because I lived here about 10 years ago when it was a place called New Alternatives 17 AKA Herricks Childrens Center. Im posting simply to state that im saddened by these reviews. Though Herrick wasnt perfect it existed to help troubled youth. I hope you guys get the ball rolling soon. But thanks for the pics on here. I felt such nostalgia looking at the grounds.

This was the worst experience for our family. My daughter went in for help. We were stonewalled and ignored for 58days. Then was told you have to come get her with three days notice, or we would be reported with child neglect! We asked to have her tested and have her nutrition monitored. Not only did she come out with out any tools to help her but she has gained twenty pounds! She is worse than when she went in. DO NOT take your child here!!!!

This is an excellent facility. It's out of network with our insurance so our deductible is larger but it's worth it for us to have our son in such a caring and professional place.

i personally stayed here in the summer of 2016. when i was admitted, i wasn’t treated for my depression but instead placed in an eating disorder house when that wasn’t my problem. some staff were polite and others were very disrespectful. it was overall disorganized and ended up causing my overall mental health to plummet. also i gained a lot of weight in there from the food.

This place was absolutely horrific some of the staff did have good intentions but all and all the entire place was a nut house there was no discipline no good nurse on staff and the staff take their at home problems to the work place and this is what made me mad the most because we would get yelled at for no reason due to problems at their home. Just a bad place...

This place is absolutely terrible, even if some staff members have good intentions. The idea of an RTC is awesome, and there are only a handful in the state of California ( believe me, I've checked ). Sovereign are at best unorganized, at worst downright uncaring. One of my house managers was a very arrogant and inpatient woman- something I feel would be frowned upon in this type of environment. The old medical director is a hack/fake MD, and this information can be obtained by something as simple as a Google search. Avoid like the plague!

I personally stayed at this facility 2 separate times. While the facility really does try their hardest, their communication with each other is horrible. This place needs a lot of work to be a great facility. But it has good potential. Shout out to peanut

First of all my daughters drug and alcohol counselor had told my daughter she knew her cousin from the bar. Why a drug and alcohol counselor would tell a minor in a facility for substance abuse this is beyond me, secondly our therapy sessions we're not with actual marriage and family counselors. And for the most part it's really just a glorified babysitting facility.

My son is a current patient at the Rancho San Diego treatment center. He was admitted close to 3 weeks ago. It was a very quick decision so I didnt have time before hand to read any of the reviews and now I'm happy I didn't. Because I would have missed out on this awesome gift that was put in front of me to help my son be his best. Not sure if the previous post were looking for a summer camp or a serious treatment center. Well we were looking for a place that was going to help our son. Now I do have to admit, I did walk out thinking "this place might be a little to gentle to for him". I wanted a tough strict program. 10 hr after making that dreaded phone call, my son was admitted. He had no idea of what was about to happened. He thought he was going to my Dr appt with me. The team was waiting for us as we entered and yes he was in shock once he found out he would be staying for a while. From that point on we have had nothing but a wonderful positive experience. The intake was long but went very smooth and all were very nice and professional. It is a very strict but loving program in a nice home like environment. The entire staff is ON POINT as far as I'm concerned. From the intake staff, the medical staff, the case manager, the Dr and therapist, to the kitchen staff. They do their job and they do it well. He has his own team of staff support. Our son loves it at the center and is happy to be surrounded by the good positive energy of the entire stafff. He is thriving and making huge strides and on his way to a healthy life style. I would highly recommend Soverengn Rancho San Diego adolescent facilities.
