Given my history of back problems and the numbness below the waist they should have preformed an MRI to check for nerve damage. Instead I waited in the ER for 4-5 hours and all they did was an X-ray which isn’t going to show much of anything and a steroid injection that was supposed to help but left me crippled in pain before spending me on my way home with nothing but a prescription for arthritis strength Tylenol. I’m currently looking into suing the ER department at this point in time given the fact that 3 weeks later I had to revived spinal surgery to remove a herniated disc that most likely has caused permanent nerve damage.

This was 9 years ago. In accident and in ICU for two weeks. The Nursing Staff and other care givers were very rude. I would ask for help with pain problems. I would tell them I needed to use the bed pan but I was always put on hold. Some of the bale movement would end up in my leg stabilizer. They never cleaned it up. None of them seemed to care. When they were getting me ready to go to a room they decided to comb my hair. That was very painful. But when I was moved upstairs two nurses gave me a really, needed bath. They took the nasty leg stabilizer off and got me a new one. These aren’t all the bad things that happened but I don’t have all day and the floor I was transferred to was the best.

Wouldn’t even give it a star! Been here for too long my mom is feeling really bad and the staff is telling me is do to priority, I understand that but how will that be possible if by the time we got here there was like just 2 people ahead of us! The waiting room got full and we’re still here sitting waiting for a room when others who came way after we did have already gotten a room. I wouldn’t like to think we’re dealing with racism here but seriously it’s too much!

The staff were very friendly and did a great job of making me comfortable and advising me of what would happen. A nurse named, I believe was Lauren, a red head, did a fabulous job putting in my IV. Probably the best I've had after many other surgeries other places. Kept me less nervous about everything. Really like Dr. Joseph Clark MD very much. Have had several surgeries with him. It is not my favorite way to spend a day. But when I need his type of surgery I will recommend him to everyone.

Had back surgery Dec.27th,2018. Hospital staff was very informative and professional. Did have a Nurse that had a issue with. Had call light on and waited and waited and waited , no one came to assist me. But other than that one issue, it was a good hospital . I just received a call from the hospital today checking on how I was doing with recovering. I would recommend this hospital .

The time one spends there is outrages my wife went in today because she had a severe lower right side pain on her stomach could barely walk and we got there around 8:50pm and they got her info and everything but didn't get seen because we decided to around 1:52am. My wife was hurting even sitting down but it's not the first time the have done that I myself went there a few months ago I got there around 12am and didn't get seen or passed to a room around 7:30am.

I very much like the care I receive but their billing department is a nightmare. For months they kept calling me saying I owed them a copay. I told them repeatedly that I'd payed that bill and I had the receipt and credit card statements to prove it. They never asked to see those, even when I asked once if they'd like a copy. Now I've received notice that my bill has been turned over to a collection agency, and I may have to hire a lawyer. I'd give them zero stars, or even negative stars, if that were possible to do. I've always had an outstanding credit score because I always pay my bills, usually early. But now my score may be lowered thanks to their incompetence.

Mom was admitted and taken to the Heart Institute/Quick Stay part. Once they ruled out that she was not having a heart attack, it was like they didn't care about her anymore. She was in SEVERE pain and her heart rate was jumping around, but it was implied the pain was in her head. They moved her to the general hospital area where she was practically ignored for another day. She was told she'd be discharged tomorrow (Sunday) after the Neuro consult and an MRI took place. Neither happened. She was FINALLY told at 5 PM tonight that the MRi would be tomorrow. She was told it would happen at 10 AM. No updates. No pain relief. Just left alone in a room with food that she couldn't ate because it was awful/not cooked thoroughly. No one ever told her anything other than "severe heart burn" which is nonsense.

Don't go here!!! Some of their employees are racist! I was transferred to HH Main ER for slurred speech, left side facial droop and left side weakness. Let's just say, I was not given exceptional care from the Neuro NP( Lainie Hall). She was very rude and unprofessional. The CT showed I did not have a stroke, so the NP interrogating me about my drug/alcohol use.N Drug and alcohol test preformed and I passed both.NP lied on her nurse's note in regards to my improvement. Instead of ordering a stat MRI, they ordered routine. MRI preformed 12 hours later confirmed I had a stroke. Spent 15 days in inpatient rehab. Contacted the patient advocate in regards to my experience. Two weeks without an response, until I emailed the CEO David Spillers. His generic response come from his secretary. Huntsville Hospital does not care about our black community . If you have a compliant contact JACHO or Department of Human Services Civil Rights Division. I am sharing because bias in healthcare has to stop.

The Outpatient Orthopedic Surgery team is amazing. Dr. Hughey and his staff took great care of my loved one. They explained the procedure, gave me private number to view my loved ones prep, operating, post, and release. Dr come talk to me after surgery. Made real stressful day into less nerve wracking stressful day being so prompt, courteous and professional.

My boyfriend has been sick for 5 days. We decided hospital was necessary over a clinic after he started vomiting. Dr. Christie Jones was very rude - as well as her nurse practitioner. He had symptoms of the flu & bronchitis - I asked them why they did not run tests and got a snarky response. Even a clinic would have tested for flu,strep,mono,bloodwork etc. I don’t know how she graduated medical school. Update: He went to his family doctor and was diagnosed with bronchitis - after the nurse told me an antibiotic would not help for a "viral" infection. I am so glad we got a second opinion. Misdiagnosis at its finest

Went to ER on Wednesday evening, March 27, 2019 around 6:00 pm. I had been having severe abdominal pains, vomiting and diarrhea for 3 hours. My daughter parked the car while an attendant wheeled me inside. I was so sick I could not hold my head up. After about 10 minutes, they took me into a small room, took BP, and asked a few questions. A nurse gave me a nausea pill to put under my tongue and then they said they needed to take blood. I had to hurry to bathroom as I was sick again, vomiting and diarrhea, it took the nurse 10 minutes or so to find a vein to draw blood. After blood was drawn, they wheeled me back into waiting room. I immediately started vomiting again. No one attended to me, asked if I needed anything. My daughter had to dispose of the vomit bag. I sat in the waiting room in a wheelchair for the next 2 hours! Approximately 9:15, my daughter inquired about how much longer, the receptionist said,”no way to tell. Some people have been waiting 5/6 hours” My daughter and I made the decision to go back to the motel, Embassy Suites, and find another hospital. I asked about my insurance as they had never asked for it. The receptionist stated, “ oh, we’ll just bill you”. I said no you won’t and gave them my insurance card. They gave the appearance of not caring whether I stayed or not. I don’t know what caused these severe abdominal issues as I never saw a doctor. This ER facility is the worst I have ever been to. Is this what our health care system has become? Warning: Never, ever go to the Huntsville ER in Huntsville, AL. Ruth Tackett Franklin, TN

I was brought to the E.R. in an ambulance after a car accident. I chose this hospital because I felt they were better equipped to find internal bleeding. I stillfeel confident it's the best equipped in the area. I was in constant pain the entire two days I was there from cracked ribs/ bruised lung. I don't feel like pain was properly addressed. The nurses didn't seem to want to do much. I had to wait to get home to clean up all of the dirty lacerations on my neck, knee, and arms. I had to wait to get home to eat. Naked, I had to ask three people over the course of 14 hours before I got a gown. The equipment there is better than other hospitals in the area but the staff is rude and cold. Experiencing the talent and bedside manner at Vanderbilt Medical is convincing me to move away from this area so I hopefully won't live my last hours in a place like this.

I would honestly give them 1 star but had to click something. My husband went in for shoulder surgery Dec 3rd. He made it perfectly clear he wanted to see me prior to anything happening. (I was on the phone with him qnd in the hospital when he told the nurse) they instead gave him 2 sedatives and the nurse pushed me out of the room when I was taken back by the receptionist. By the time I was allowed to see him he was heavily sedated and for 2 hours told me he loved me and he was dying. Upon a conference call today (over 2 months of trying to get answers) we were told they were sorry and they expressed how sorry they were for that happening. They had no reason for the rush of being 2.5 hours prior to surgery. I will die before I ever allow a nurse or dr have control of my life. I need 3 necessary surgeries that I now refuse die to this incident. The look on my husband's face when I opened the curtain and was pushed out (normally a very alert man, that had no clue I was there) he had no clue I was there at the room. Seeing him heavily sedated and listen to him telling me he was dying for 2 hours had traumatized me to the point I would rather die then have any procedures that requires general anesthesia. I have watched 2 people die, I have seen my dad with body parts blown off him and nothing and I mean NOTHING has ever traumatized me the way I have been by the actions of the nurse and anesthesiologist of whom he (we) trusted and had his life life in their hands. Due to their actions it will be the death of me and I will make it known nationwide. NOTHING can take the pain or racing experience from me, I have tried to move on and let it be, but it's not easy, nor has it let up any. On a daily basis I have struggled to seek answers and logic of their actions. Today I was told they have no answers and there was no logic.... I personally will NEVER step foot in that hospital again.

During multiple visits to this hospital over the past year, I have frequently encountered unprofessional staff more interested in laugh and gossip (despite being a HIPAA violation..) than my health care. Friends that I've never even told about certain visits were made aware of my medical issues thanks to the gossip of nurses and an ambulance medic. During my past two visits to the ER, my health concerns were ignored by nurses and doctors, and during my most recent trip, the doctor was unable to identify the cause of my discomfort and insisted that it was all in my head. I will never visit this hospital again, and I have told all of my friends and family how poorly I was treated and how unprofessional the staff I encountered were.

All they care about is how they are making their money AND saving their money. They will put your loved one in an unsafe position before they will spend a little extra money to have enough staff.

Mr. David Spillers, I won't give Huntsville Hospital a single Star. After sitting in the emergency room for 3 1/2 hours Monday night, my son was told he would not see a doctor at all. This is a horrible way to do business. I'm sure that i will get a "BILL" for no service at all. I think you should pay more attention to the Emergency Room instead of building all these new departments you are building. Bigger isn't always better. Making people wait hours on end only to be told they won't see a doctor then sending a "BILL" for "NO SERVICE" isn't good at all.

I had a hip replacement done on February 28th the doctor was very behind I was told to be there at noon and by the time he got to me it was almost 4pm. I understand things happen so I was not upset. After my surgery I couldn’t ask for a better team of people to take care of me they all were so nice and understanding and so helpful. After I got home I realized I left my pillow and I called and the nurse venessa put it up so my sister could go get it the next day. I was so happy to get my pillow back and so blessed to have a great team to take care of me Thank you HH

Guess I should have known better to tell my loved one to avoid this ER from what I see below it is exactly what he experienced. Uncaring, rude, mean, inappropriate staff who have lost all respect for human deciency. 55 YO gentleman with severe back spasms to the point of being unable to walk or speak due to pain. First ER visit (Dr Solomon) sent diabetic home with 40mg prednisone (horrible in diabetic) and Methocarbamol (no one uses this highly abused drug orally anymore except for injection for actual muscle spasms!) and norco (a NARCOTIC!) with no MRI eval. Pain so severe the second day the gentleman went back to ER in ambulance because he couldn’t get out of bed or even speak due to the severity of pain and put him in a wheelchair!! He sat in ER waiting room for 3 hours then took the ER staff until 4 am (8 hours total) to still not do an MRI for actual assessment and sat him outside for him to try and figure out how to get home. Still in severe pain and unable to walk. Chris (house nursing supervisor) was upset with the family that is in WA State trying to help their loved one stating they were (harassing the staff who had more important things to do than take care of this poor debilitated man) and hung up the phone on the family (actually slammed the phone down). Dr Derbort (ER MD) refused to talk with family with the gentlemen because he was (too busy with more important patients), and ARNP Samantha claimed the family was trying to be “conniving” to get an “unnecessary” MRI to truly assess the problem as MRI’s are only if the patient was incontinent and the ER didn’t have time for that. He has pain that feels like “fire going from his arm down to his feet”. That is true nerve pain, but determined it was ortho and gave him a muscle relaxant and prednisone and narcotics without any extra assessment of blood sugars. No Neurontin which could actually help with the nerve pain and is not a narcotic. Blood pressure was 160/120 (he is on BP medication and the prednisone was obviously causing fluid overload putting him at risk of heart damage) and that was not addressed as well. Stay away from this ER at minimum. They do not care about following guidelines and EASY to follow algorithms set up to easily address this situation by experts within and outside the U.S. They do not listen to the family as the patient advocate and are only interested in doing the minimal effort to get the patient out of their ER so they aren’t “bothered” with it.

By far suppose to be a very advanced hospital yet it takes more than 6 hours just to get a mri done. This is beyond stupid especially when my family member is/or could be having a stroke and even mentioned the numbness is spreading but still having to wait an additional 2 hours while it spreads further.

This place absolutely sucks. The overnight emergency staff don't give a damn about anyone in this place. We've been sitting here for 6+ hours with a family member who is in severe pain waiting for a room. they have been curled up in a ball in a wheel chair jerking from the pain and its freezing in here and the snobby desk clerk acts like it's an extreme burden that we ask for a frikin blanket. It's places like this that keep people from wanting to step in to a hospital at all. NEVER GO HERE! P.s. I've been reading other reviews in this place and whom ever is in charge of the replies to reviewers, if you actually let the leadership in these different wings know about the complaints and they haven't done anything to better the situation yet then it highlights the problem extremely. The staff and quality of care is amazing! Recently had to spend the night there for a family member that was in ICU. She had a pulmonary embolism and was in very bad shape upon arrival. They were able to save her life! The staff was very kind and accomodating. We took advantage of the guest sleeping area. It was awesome. They also have a showering area for guests. The food was great as well. The whole place was very clean and well maintained. Very good experience here!!

My father has currently been sitting in the ER waiting room for over 13 hours in severe pain. We have watched people that have come in hours after him, walking, laughing, and eating be seen and discharged. We’ve also witnessed people coming in with signs of cardiac emergencies be placed in the ER waiting area. We’re still sitting here. Aside from being efficient with checking vitals simply for the sake of being able to say they’ve seen you, the staff is horrendously rude and inconsiderate. Unless this hospital is your absolute only choice, I would NOT recommend stepping foot in it.

As far as there life saving abilities, they are good at what they do. As far as any kind of compassion or kindness they are horrible. There was 2 nurses that showed concern, other than that the rest were extremely rude. They herd you through like your a bunch of cattle. I was in a wreck and had 7 broken ribs, shoulder broke in 3 places, broken nose, broken jaw, small brain bleed, bones in my face broken, upper pallet was separated from my skull. I was in extreme pain, I was begging the ER for 1 little ice chip to ease my throat that was so dry I was gagging, she yelled at me and said " your covered in vomit and piss, your thirst don't concern me". I was in so much pain, it hurt to breathe, and when I would ask for something for pain, I would have to hear a lecture on the opioid crises in America. Now that being said, I agree, and am for laws and regulations that govern the opioids but, when you are in a Level 1 trauma unit busted up like I am, that is not the time or place to adress this. Dr. Smith was out in the hallway and was heard poking fun and laughing. Im here to tell you there was nothing funny about the situation I am in. I'm severely allergic to the tape they was using. I had 3 IV's in one arm. The tape broke me out so bad it was peeling my skin off, it was blood raw. I asked nurse after nurse to please help me, there response was, this is what we use on everyone. This hospital needs to learn that everyone is an indivudual, and has individual needs. What works for one does not work for all. I could go on and on about the horrible care I received but I think ive made my point. I do not EVER want to be taken there again.

No ER patients should be signing their own paper work in the Emergency waiting room. And patients are just waiting around while they are in pain in the lobby in wheelchairs and no one is doing and fast action to make anything better. My friend was having chest pains clenching his chest and nothing was being done for a while. Anything that has to do with the heart, he should have been checked in to a room with immediate care. There was a lady throwing up in the lobby and no fast actions were being made they just moved her.

It's very bad I'm in the emergency room since 11am and it's 6pm and I still have not seen my husband because the system fell down. I do not want to imagine a chaos or national emergency. Go to any other ER if you want professional help. You will not find it here. I had to go to the ER back when I first moved to Huntsville. Severe cramping and chest/abdominal pain. I sat in the waiting room for hours before I was seen. Doctors brushed it off as food poisoning. I went back 6 months later, same problem and symptoms, same results from doctors. No testing of any kind, just diagnosed and released. This happened twice more, at nearly 6 month intervals. The last time I went, I had to come via ambulance because the pain was so bad I couldn't drive. This time they checked me into the ER, then put me in a wheelchair, and wheeled me out to the waiting room. 8+ hours I spent in the waiting room. Once back in a room, the doctor diagnosed me with food poisoning again. 6 months later, I had another episode. This time I searched for another ER and found Crestwood. I was checked in and seen in less than 1 hour. The doctor said he thought i was having a gallbladder attack. He ordered the full gambit, x-ray, CAT, then MRI, then nuclear medicine. Gallbladder had all but completely quit. Only 2% working. Do not go to Huntsville Hospital ER! I wouldn't go there if my life depended on it.

Outdated facility. Understaffed. Unprofessional nurses and techs. I’m typing this as I sit here with my sister who’s bleeding thru her bandage dressing. I literally had to go to the nurses station twice to get someone because the tech “forgot” about my sister after I literally brought her to the room to check on the bandages. When the nurse (Nichole) finally showed up, she was unapologetic about not checking on her patient for over an hour. She continued to make excuses as to why she hadn’t come back sooner, and none of those excuses included being with another patient. I wouldn’t step foot back in this place if my life depended on it, which would probably be for the best since I like living & breathing. My family and I are completely disgusted with Huntsville Hospital, especially with the staff on the 4th floor. Thanks for nothing guys, you’re truly the worst! :)

The wait time here is horrible. Brought my husband in for chest and arm pains at 3 in the morning. I wrote this review while still here at the hospital at 2:31 PM. Almost 12 hours at this hospital. Ridiculous. We should have went with our first instinct and went to Crestwood. I guess you live and learn, but we will be going to Crestwood or even Madison Hospital in the future.

The psychiatrist on staff agreed to the release of my son when his symptoms were dangerously severe. Thanks be to God that my son unwittingly travelled to another location where his need were met and is healthy today. It is inhumane to not treat someone whose mental health symptoms are severe and highly treatable. We really should sue this hospital. If you have a mental health crisis do what you can to drive to Tennessee or South as far as at least Birmingham. Our lovely intelligent city ought to be ashamed of how we neglect and abuse families in mental health crisis.

On Saturday I get hit by a truck while on my bike and the guy running over my feet. Want to Huntsville hospital the it was just bruised wrapped it up don't give me a boot not rx for crutches and just rx Norco. Want to Crestwood yesterday and was diagnosed with a fractured and recommend me to a specialty am sue them.

I am in the hospital right now and I can say I am very disappointed with the care given. About a week ago I was in the er in El Paso and I was in and out in two hours which for me is super fast. Today at Huntsville, I sat in the waiting room for a hour then moved to a room where the nurse came in and asked the same question as the previous person only to tell me they were going to put me back on steroids and then discharge me. It has now been three hour since I have seen anyone I have even asked how long writing a prescription takes and was advised that the doctor meaning one doctor is busy and takes time to see everyone. Which I understand, but why only one doctor and why do the nursing staff seem to be having so much fun until I talk to them ?

The staff at Huntsville hospital saved my life. Had extreme tachycardia on Jan. 25. They worked diligently trying to find the underlying cause. Every staff member from the Doctors, to the tech staff were friendly, and helpful. ER wait time was short, and was discharged in good health the next day. My Husband, Michael Hyde was transferred to Huntsville Hospital on July 25, 2018. He went directly into a room in the ER. The emergency room staff was remarkable. Dr Shah was extremely knowable and was happy to answer all questions and family concerns. During testing in ER several other health problems were discovered and we were very thankful since we were not aware of these problems. He was admitted and sent to the 4th floor. Outstanding nurses and attendants. Willie his nurse did all possible to make him comfortable. Drs Chan and Wood along with several others got right on the issue to corrrect them. The reason I felt compelled to write this review is that my husband has never been sick and at 70 this could have been a very scary experience for all of us. Due the outstanding staff at Huntsville Hospital he is on the way to recovery.

I’ve come to this hospital several times for my own personal injuries, however, I’m currently sitting in a back hallway of the ER with my mother in which has infected surgical wounds and stitches becoming undone. The wait time for the ER so gloriously reads “34 minutes”, however, we arrived at 8, it is almost midnight and we are still waiting to be seen or even taken back to a proper room!! My mother is ill from the infection yet it’s as if that isn’t good enough. This is the worst medical treatment I have ever seen. So disorganized, it’s as if we don’t exist in this hallway. Despite this, my mother’s blood pressure has Ben high then went below average in the blood pressure test but they didn’t find this suspicious??? Do NOT come to this hospital for immediate treatment. Poor excuse of a hospital.

This hospital ER really sucks. I only been twice and i waitied way to long for a head injury. My baby 21 months she fell off the couch saturday she was fine until monday when she started having a fever that wont go down even with meds. So i decided to take her to this hospital because i stay in crockett tx and im from houston and this the only hospital i know. My baby was crying off and on the whole time we sit there for 4 hours .hard. They were taking people that came 2 hours after us and when i asked how long, how many people was in front of my baby the lady at the front desk like. Well we dont know it first come first serve or if its urgent and im like ok. Well my child hit her head she crying screaming on the top of her lungs and you taking adult before her. I just left because i really felt uncomfortable. That they took a man he just laying on the floor laid for about 10 minutes of walking in and my child still sitting here crying off and on and take him first . I dont like this hospital and i would never go back. Horrible hospital i ever went to. I dont know if it was me but it seem very racist in that hospital. If i could give no stars i would horrible!!!!!!!

My husband was airlifted to this hospital from a small hospital 2 hrs away for a traumatic brain injury and open skull fracture. Dr Zywicke performed an emergency brain surgery and he spent 4 days in neuro ICU and one day on floor 8. Dr Zywicke was amazing and ICU and the floor were equally amazing. Our nurses Alena and Don in neuro ICU were among the best nurses I have ever encountered anywhere and Rosie our nurse on floor 8 was as well. I’ve spent a lot of time with family members at UAB and always thought they were the best hospital in Alabama. My opinion has changed dramatically after our experience at HH. The ICU waiting room is where i slept for 4 nights. They made every effort possible to see that I was comfortable - from pillows and blankets to showers and toiletries, their compassion was top notch. I will forever be grateful to the doctors, nurses, and staff at HH for the compassion they showed to my husband and I during a very traumatic experience for our family. And I will forever be grateful to Dr Zywicke for saving my husbands life.

I was 18 weeks pregnant when I came into the new Women and Children ER with severe constipation and was in a lot of pain. I was brought to a room right away and had such wonder nurses and a great Dr. They took the time to check the baby was healthy and then got to work right away on finding me relief. I was there several hours and they gave me such great attention and care and left feeling so much better! I am so happy that Huntsville Hospital has opened an ER for Women and Children!

HH is a third world experience. Do yourself a favor and drive to Vanderbilt if you have any major health issues. I went in for the repair of a herniated disk. I woke up from surgery in a lot of pain. When they transferred me to a regular room the hospital bed looked like something out of the 1950's. It was made of crisscrossed metal hatching with about three inches of very thin foam for a mattress. My wife called the nursing station. 45 minutes later the "nurse" arrived, looking annoyed. I explained how painful the metal slats were pushing through the thin foam. She could have cared less. I was told "this is the only bed we have available" which was a total fabrication. I checked out immediately and went home.

Came to this hospital after being in an automobile accident, current wait time is estimated to be at least 8 hours. Some people have been waiting 10 hours to receive treatment. I understand that emergency rooms can be busy, but this is ridiculous. Wait times need to be compared to other area hospitals, improvement needed on the overall customer service of the staff. Upper management needs to revisit the structure of the emergency department. I wonder what the joint commission rating is for this facility

We went in because my husband was having chest pain. They started the process quickly then drastically changed after the first hour. We waited 5 hours and never saw the doctor. People who came in hours after us was being seen and discharged with mild symptoms. Cardiac patients should come before a stomach ache. Then they wanted to be smart about it and give us dirty looks when we asked how much longer. They would say the doctor is finishing up and should be right out well hours later nothing. Then one nurse said they only had one doctor available and that's what was taking so long. They were very inconsistent with there stories. It wouldn't send my worst enemy to this hospital. They need to learn customer service. We even called to speak with someone about our experience and said they would call us back and never did.

I came in with sever joint pain, numbness, swelling, fever, dizziness and low blood pressure. I got into a room quickly where 4 nurses were waiting. I explained my symptoms and they left, I waited 45 mins for a nurse to return to draw blood,took 4 trys because I was dehydrated when they got the sample it was clotted so they had to do it again. Then they told me they were giving me a iv just in case the doctor wanted to give me meds, I questioned this because you don't give an iv unless you have to because it can cause infection but they forced me to get one and it took 3 nursed both arms a blown vain and 4 trys later before it was successful and once it was in they never hooked me up to anything. My blood pressure dropped low enough to make my machine go off and after 30 mins of the beeping my vision was blurry so I called the nurse and she told me it was low due to the amount of pain I was in but they refused to even give me Tylenol or even a sip of water. Finally the doctor came in and ordered a x ray of my wrist even tho I had no injury to my wrist. She came back an hour after I got the x ray and told me all my tests came back fine and she prescribed me cough syrup I DIDN'T HAVE A COUGH OR ANY COLD SYMPTOMS! I was discharged with dangerously low blood pressure and swollen bloody arms from the iv they never used! As soon as I left I went to another hospital and they immediately admitted me in septic shock, I spent a week in the hospital. I was diagnosed with septic arthritis! I almost died because of this hospitals negligence! I've already tried to contact patient services and still no call back but this is far from over!

This is the worst ER you could possibly go to. My mother was brought here by AMBULANCE not a car. She had crippling pain in her abdomen that left her unable to walk. After arriving at the hospital they proceeded to make her stand up and WALK through the metal detector while she was in severe pain. She was checked in at 12:30pm and we are still waiting in the lobby. She's only had her vitals checked and that is all. She is still having pain. We've been her for approximately 5 hours now and nothing. Several other people have been back and discharged. You're better off going to another hospital. Ridiculous.

This ER is horrible, the waiting room can be a potential death bed. I waited 7 hours in the waiting room and still never was seen by a doctor. And I find it a huge slap in the face for me to be in pain and can barely walk but, the so called nursing staffs to be laughing & joking with one another and not trying to make the patients feel comfortable and/or trying to get a patients to a doctor is extremely poor practice. HH Main is excellent, ER has long wait times, but in comparison to the hospital where I live (Marshall Medical Center South), everything here is all around excellent and the wait time is nothing. I'll take in & out in 5-8 hours over a 10 hour minimum wait just to go through triage any time!

If you need to go to the ER, DO NOT GO HERE. You could actually DIE. Go to the University Drive ER--it is much better! I waited, curled up in a ball in immense stomach pain for nearly SIX HOURS without so much as a tums from the staff. They routinely took patients that had just gotten there over me, despite the fact that I was having a really bad reaction to a dosage of prescribed medication--something that should be taken VERY seriously by trained medical professionals.

How can I get in touch with somebody in the security office??????? Yes I finally spoke to someone. And then their are the nurses who are there to chat and have fun and forget about their patients. They are rude and have no compassion and apparently no one knows how to give the family information on what's going on. But then again why would they because even when you have a blood clot in your internal jugular vein they are not concerned. To put it mildly they are incompetent, uncaring, and are only there to get paid from what I can tell after 11 days of pure stupidity. If I were dying I wouldn't crawl in there with my last breath. I recently had lower back surgery (bone fusion) and it's probably the hardest thing I've ever done, I would like to start of saying thank you to the huntsville hospital staff for taking such good care of a very whinny girl like me.I've never experienced pain like this so this is the most venerable I've ever been. They managed my pain very well, the nurse that put in my IV done a perfect job, I hate needles and IV's are usually a bad experience for me. There was always someone in my room making sure I was comfortable. I can't express my gratitude enough to the nurses on the third floor. This will definitely be my hospital of choice ?

My husband's Gastric Elimination Study was done today by Jennifer in the imaging center near the gift shop. We were both impressed and pleased with the fact that she gave us a thorough explanation of what to expect during this 3-4 hour procedure. She said yes, I could accompany my husband. She explained that during the one-hour period between "pictures" we could leave the area and make ourselves comfortable in other areas of the hospital. We were to return to the imaging center at an agreed upon time each hour. We were both able to relax during the waiting periods and that made the time go faster. Cudos to Jennifer.

This city has good Drs.and good nurses , so stop UNDER STAFFING the facility. Your patient care is horrible. It has gone down in the past year. The hospital is filthy and the nurses want to provide good care but cannot because they have too many patients. My son recently went through a bone marrow transplant in another state and after 6 months returned home. He since has been hospitalized twice here. It's been dirty. One time he was in the ER 15 hrs before they even got him a room. He had C diff, low immunity from the transplant and prob unhealthier now from being in your dirty hospital. Not happy and this makes me sad because you guys do a lot of fundraising. If those that raised a lot for your hospital toured the facilities, spoke w the patients and the nurses that are under staffed they most likely would not be so generous. C'mon HH, be better than that. We are a great educated city, don't bring the hospital down by cutting your staff and proper care.

I sat in a waiting room for over 8 hours, with nothing AT ALL being done. 9 months later, Huntsville Hospital turned my "bill" over to collections. I never got any bill in the mail, online, or a phone call. I call Huntsville Hospital and asked to speak to appropriate Personell and ask them what services were i being charged for and they couldn't tell me. They will be hearing from my lawyer soon. Wife gave birth in the Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. It was a great experience, from start to finish. The labor and delivery nurse helped to make her stay comfortable, and she voluntarily stayed past her scheduled leaving time to help deliver the baby. All of the staff, both before and after delivery, were friendly and helpful. While we luckily didn't have to use any of the NICU facilities, we were comfortable knowing that the best facilities in the area were available. The services are expensive, but I believe that the costs are similar to those of other local hospitals. Thank you for helping us bring our new child into the world!

I'm a member at the gym and it is WONDERFUL. The equipment is up to date and easy to use, with instructions and diagrams on each machine. It's very quiet in case you like silence, I wear headphones, and I don't have to turn them up very loud at all. The locker room is fabulous, with a dryer for my bathing suit after I swim laps, and the pool is regulation length so I can swim my mile easily. The staff is nice and accommodating and never judgmental. If you're looking for a gym but you're embarrassed that you're out of shape or weak, this is a helpful non competitive environment.

Incompetent is one word that could be used to describe this clown car organization. There are many others but I'm trying to remain kind. Three trips on three consecutive days for the same problem that wasn't discovered. Went to a different hospital and the issue was found and corrected on the first visit. My bill was $300 per incident just to walk into the door totaling $900 over the three days. Thank God for insurance or I'd be looking at about $30k. The competing hospital charged me a grand total of $3.06. That isn't a typo. Their quote was "we won't do to you what Huntsville Hospital did." As I call to pay the bill at 8:20 AM with the billing office opening at 8:00 AM on a Friday, I receive a message telling me to call back during normal business hours.

The waiting room televisions were all set to CNN news which is the most distrustful station there is was at that was on I asked for them to turn on FOX news and they said they couldn't change the channel. This is not good public relations. If you're a partner with CNN I am disappointed with your hospital, if the customer requests other programming you should accommodate them.

I was had outpatient surgery by Dr. Mailapur November 11, 2012. I had requested no GENERAL anesthesia. I was taken to the OR strapped to a table, a sheet was placed over my face, and I was held down screaming for the Dr. to stop. I have met with and spoken to a patient advocate three times now and nothing has been done. To this day I cannot even sit in a dentist chair for fear of being held down against my will.

I came in there tonight due to an infected ingrown toenail people that just walked in hot out right then I sat there for 3 hours and said forget this I'm going home. about a week ago they got my mom back right then and there but misdiagnosed her saying it was caffeine and hormones that made her breast enlarge she went to 3 hospitals Huntsville, parkway, and Decatur general parkway thought she came in just for pills and the doctor was very rude and said what could he find that Huntsville and Decatur general couldn't and he found out her white blood cells were high. she goes to her primary doctor and it's an infection in her body and that is the reason why her breast has enlarged I WILL NEVER go back to Huntsville hospital again I am still in pain after telling them tonight I was in severe pain but they didn't care it wasn't too serious and not important to them I felt like they forgot about me just to tend to the select few that just came in there for pain pills. I have not only seen that happen at Huntsville I have also seen it at Decatur general. if I could rate Huntsville hospital, Decatur General, and Parkway with a -5 I would cause half the time they misdiagnose people like my mom

If I could give Huntsville hospital a zero rating I would! My friend was treated by a clinic affiliated with Huntsville hospital. He was given a treatment plan, when he called the clinic and told them the treatment did not work they told him to go to the ER. We have literally been sitting in the ER waiting room now for 8 hours!!! When I asked two hours ago " how much longer before he's seen by a physician" I was told "that they have no idea." Not only that but the receiptioist informed me that "everything seemed to look normal". So are we to assume that the clinic over reacted?????? That the physician at the clinic deemed it an emergency... when it wasn't???? Honestly, lm ashamed to say this is my hometown hospital. They are rude, just a shameful place.

This is what you get when you hire a bunch of low lifes with community college degrees that used to hold down McDonalds that had no other choice than to get a quick and easy degree. heartless pompous under educated morons . I was an inpatient there for some tests. When tests were complete and nothing showed wrong, I asked to be discharged. Nurses kept telling me I could not go home until the doctor said it was OK. I explained that I came in voluntarily, was not committed, and there was no court order placing me in the hospital. Of course I can go home. Then they said my insurance would refuse to pay my bill if I left without the doctor's permission. More absolute non-sense. I eventually had to break out like breaking out of a prison. Borderline false imprisonment, coercion, etc. Only a judge or a court can make you stay in the hospital against your will--and even then you are entitled to due process (a hearing, a lawyer, an appeal, etc.). In reading the reviews, it's one apology after another in response to bad reviews. Why don't they change things, rather than apologizing to every patient for a lousy experience. It would be challenging but change can occur with diligence, motivation and caring.

Still in this cracker jack Er, they have got the wait average down to 8 hrs. They seem to think this is a good waiting time period. They give no information and don't seem to be the least bit concerned for any of the patients waiting. The hospital may be good, but the Er is one of the worst I have seen. Ok asked to see the charge nurse and a bit later was taken back to see the nurse practitioner, the charge nurse was to busy. Got the idea to ask from your responses to other posts. Still no good.

Been sitting in this er for over 7 hours came all the way from Tennessee and I'm still sitting here when there are a bunch of empty rooms and over 50 people waiting to be seen and they say those rooms are closed how can you close rooms when there are so many people to be seen I just want to know how many people died waiting in the waiting room and how does the employees have so much time to sit around talking and giggling seems like a lawsuit in the making to me and I think a news crew or somebody needs to do a story on how poor service is in this er just sad now I have to travel even more to get some medical attention and have to pay for parking when I didn't even get service smh

I had my hip replaced and everyone from the pre-surgery to post op was great. Beverly, Lauren, Alan were great very kind and caring. There confidence inspired me and helped me. 24 hours after surgery I walk a half mile around the floor. This was a great experience, the only problem I had was finding my way to the third floor. I went to two elevators that would not go to the 3rd floor then I found one. Food had been great to very good and warm when served. Thank you Dr. Goodson for my new hip the VA over looked for years I feel do much better and can not wait until we do my right hip.

Ben sick for two days..came into ER bawt 5:20pm thay called me to take blood pressure at 5:55 wuz sent back to er waiting room sat ther tell round 6:45pm gat called to take blood a piss sent back to waiting room..at my 2hr mark of being here that took blood pressure again and at 9pm I'm still siting in the ER wating room...my wife sed something to them and 10 mins later I gat sent to the back.

My husband is a disabled veteran. The local VA clinic sent him to Huntsville Hospital ER yesterday due to unexplained swelling in his left arm. He is a double amputee, has kidney disease and is a heart patient. After over 12 hours he still had not been seen by a doctor nor given a room. He could no longer wait in the lobby and left in the middle of the night. People should at the very least be treated with respect while they are in a weakened state. This is not the first bad experience he has had there. Huntsville Hospital maybe you should consult with the director of the local VA clinic. They may be able to at least help you with your people skills since you are in the people business.

HORRIBLE... My father who is 80 years old is still in ER has been there since about 4 yesterday afternoon. He had back surgery in July and is in horrible pain and can't walk. And he's still in ER. My god his doctor is who told us to take him to ER but they are saying they need to talk to Doctor.. This place sucks putting it mildly. Not the first time a back patient has had to stay ALL night in ER. They done the same thing to my husband when he had to go back. I would give a negative 10 stars if I could. Good thing he wasn't dying.

My son was brought in by ambulance after a rollover traffic crash during Which he sustained some head and upper torso injuries. I got there a short time later, and was directed immediately to his treatment room. I waited a short time while Dr McCormack sutured his upper gum and prepared him for x-rays and a cat scan RN Salena, RN Melissa Lee and Dr McCormack were quick, efficient and provided outstanding treatment. Thank God it turned out that his injuries were relatively minor. They explained everything and set us at ease. Wonderful medical professionals.

My sister was admitted to Huntsville, AL hospital a few days ago since the VA had no room for her at the time she was admitted. I would like to first give a heartfelt thanks to Callie and Heather. Callie was kind to me on the phone yesterday and Heather was kind to my sister. I would also like to thank the lady who came in and actually had an informative conversation with my sister about her treatment options available to her. I am sad to report that for the most part, since my sister’s admission to Huntsville Hospital, I have had the displeasure of dealing with some very rude staff members of 8N. My sister has designated me as the family member that can receive information about her care. Last night, I was provided the limited information that was available. Tonight, I was told by a very rude 8N staff member named Kathy/Katie that I needed a password to obtain updates. When I asked her how I could go about establishing or getting a password, I was told in a very nasty manner that I would have to come in so that she could verify who I was. I told her that I was out of state, and she said “oh well, those are the rules.” Despite my apparent frustration, I ended the call with “thank you” out of courtesy. My courtesy was returned by Katie hanging up on me. From the onset of my conversation with Katie, It was apparent to me that my call was an absolute inconvenience to her. Earlier today, my sister requested for the staff to keep me informed of her care, and she asked one staff member, Dr. Karr/Carr, to call me. When she persisted, he talked to her disrespectfully and made no attempt to mask his frustration that she would have the audacity to ask that her family be kept informed of her treatment. My sister is a Navy Vet who has served in Afghanistan, GITMO, and Panama and she does not deserve to be treated like an imbecile or an inconvenience. Furthermore, even though she is in physical distress, she hears the snide comments and jokes some of the 8N staff members are making about her. To be treated badly by so called professionals and then to treat the out of state family member with disdain is incredibly insensitive to say the least. My sister has expressed frustration of not being kept informed of the results of the plethora of test being run on her. The few times she has asked for the results of test, the staff responds in a rude manner like keeping the patient informed is too much to ask. Since I have worked in patient care, I speak from an informed position and It appears to me that the only thing Huntsville Hospital is interested in doing is giving my sister multiple and costly test to run up the cost of her care since VA is footing the bill. My sister has tried to share her history with various Doctors to let them know she has already been tested for some of the conditions she is being tested for. Again, the persistent message that is indirectly conveyed to my sister is “shut up, don’t ask questions!” Huntsville Hospital doesn’t seem to be the least bit interested in her history, her well-being, her pain management, a diagnosis, or a prognosis; only the size of the bill. Shame on those of you who are making a mockery of my sister with your jokes at her expense. Shame on those of you who have no idea how to be professional to an out of state family member of a patient. At first I felt some relief because Huntsville ranks as the number 2 hospital, but evidently, that rating has nothing to do with providing caring and professional patient care. I am fearful that my sister’s life is in the hands of people who don’t seem to be interested in treating her with dignity, kindness and the respect she deserves as a human being and a Veteran! .

I came to the Huntsville Hospital ER at around 5:20am on 5/27/16 after getting a piece of food lodged in my esophagus that was preventing me from swallowing. There were about ten people in the waiting area, but they processed me quickly. Within about 4 hours I'd been diagnosed and prepped for an endoscopy. Two hours later, I was on my home to recover. Everyone there was very professional and courteous, even though I could tell there was a lot going on. As I was checking in, the desk staff was having to deal with a belligerent person who I thought was being pretty disrespectful. I know these folks deal with people's problems on a non-stop basis, so results may vary. But for me, I really feel like I got the best possible treatment.

My husband was sent to ER by family dr. He arrived at 6:15 pm....it is now 4:00 am and he is still in the lobby. How do you explain this? Its insane that you have basically monopolized Huntsville and the care gets worse. Whats worse they did Ultrasound and xrays, sent him back to the lobby so we arent sure if insuarance will pay if he just comes home to lay down. In 40 years of going to HH and swearing by it even if we have had to wait 3-4 hrs prior to this visit, we have NEVER had this kind of experience. I noticed the website removed the ER wait time. Recommendation...Crestwood...and thats painful enough or Huntsville Hospital Madison, this seems to be where the money is now. Sooo frustrated. Been speaking with ER manager "Joshua" in hopes we can get some direction and praying the husband doesn't get mistreated. (Im home due to casted leg or I'd be with him). I called and ask ER wait time, it was advertised at 2hrs and 25 mins. Update: in room approx 4:15 am (not system time, actual. System showed him in a room sooner, which caused confusion when speaking to Joshua). Released approx 6:45 am

On Feb 1 my dad became a direct admit to the medical special needs unit. Acute COPD. He was quite weak and ill. He was treated w respect and dignity. I noticed the RN to pt. Assignments were 4:1. Not sure how many pt.S the technicians had. As far as baths my dad got there he told me one. He was there 5 days. Dad was on heart healthy diet each day a food service person took your order from the day before. The food was tasteless. A complaint w that was if oleo was forgotten food service did not have anything extra on cart for anyone. My father did improve. He got one annoyance was his 02 sat. Monitor kept alarming, which was good in that it taught him to deep breathe...for as he is home now his 02 pulse ox has gotten into the mid to high 90s. A suggestion for those confined in the rooms and are (with it) have a tv guide to channels offered. Thank you for easing my mind. Juli. an old RN.

My daughter was admitted into this hospital and it was a terrible experience. The doctors and nurses were uncaring and I had to keep asking about my daughter's status and the next steps over and over again. And to make matters worse they gave her too much of her medication at one time and they had to reverse the medicine out of her system. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!! We had a terrible experience.

Poor doesn't even begin to describe this hospital. This place is HORRIBLE. My mother was in for severe pneumonia and she was treated like filth. She could barely move or do anything, and they even left her laying in her own urine for an extended period of time. None of the hospital management ever reached out to me or called me back when I wanted to talk to someone about this. They tried to tell me that I wasn't allowed to have any cellphones or electronic devices to record all this evidence. They don't want people to see how disgusting they treat their patients. They treat people horrible here. DO NOT COME HERE. You would be better off taking care of yourself at home than coming to this place. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

My 98 year old father was admitted for hip bursitis, treated and pain gone. On his last night in the hospital, he fell out of bed, was checked by the UAB hospitalist and determined to be OK. NO X-RAY WAS DONE. He was discharged the next day by ambulance and literally screaming in hip/leg pain on the opposite side from the bursitis. The 4th floor nurses heard his screams and no one seemed to think anything was wrong. Four days later we had to send him by ambulance to the Lincoln Co ER (he lives in Fayetteville) where we found he had a broken hip. There is no excuse to not do x-ray on someone that age!!

Honestly by far the worst place I have ever been to. We got to the ER at 4pm on Monday afternoon and the lobby was partially full and I knew that we would be waiting for awhile because I do understand that there are more urgent cases than others and stuff does happen. I thought the wait would be 5-6 hours or so but no we were there for 14 hours!!! The experience started off fine at first they got me back for my blood work and ultrasound within the first 2 hours, then I was told all that was left was to have the doctor review it and go over the findings with me. After watching patients come and go and after being there for about 7 hours I walked up to the desk to just see if they knew a round about time that i would be seen, they gave me a short answer of no. Finally after sitting there for 10 hours my husband called to see why I hadn't been seen yet the first person that answered hung up on him he finally got through and was furious at this point. The head nurse came out and pulled me and my mom aside to tell us they would have us a room soon. After another hour we were fed up walked to the desk and just told them we were leaving when a voice from the back screamed their room is being cleaned now. As we got back to the room I was exhausted and hungry and honestly just fed up with the situation. The nurses came and went and the doctor did not come in until we kept asking the nurses over and over again how much longer. When they were trying to place a catheter they could not get it placed until after 3 tries they had to get 2 other nurses to come in and do it. After the additional tests were done we were told we had to wait for results, after being there for 14 hours we were ready to go so my mom walked out and i behind her, i stopped at the desk to let them know we were leaving and the nurse said she would let the doctor know who was standing right beside us. He then preceded to state he hated people and then another nurse asked what i was doing up there if i was waiting to be dismissed i said yes and she told me to leave the area because they talk about patients up there. After all of that they call my house today and talk to my husband about a recheck he stated we would not be back and they kept pushing saying i needed to come back in and if i wasn't then what OB/GYN would i be going too. I will never in my life go back there for any type of treatment nor will any of my family!

They Expect Me To Pay A Bill When I got there I was so sick I could barley stand . I sat in a hallway for 6hrs and no one came to check on me AT ALL ! They called me back to the doctor gave me antibiotics and sent me home. This is the WORST Hospital I have EVER been to and the fact that it is the only hospital near me is HORRIBLE ! I came to HH ER August 29. My doctor referred me to the ER because she thought I might need fluids because I'd been sick since Saturday with dysentery and vomiting. I waited, no exaggeration, over 8 HOURS AND never got to see anyone. My toddler had been there long enough and I just wanted to lay down. They did blood work and took my $200 co-pay which I should get back because I am going to have to still go somewhere else to make sure I don't have staph in my stomach because my daughter has had it. So disappointed! Only been in Huntsville 1 year and this was my first experience with the ER and what I learned is just don't go, if the dr can't do it, you'll need to be on deaths door before anyone can see you here.

You may be better off dying if this is your only option. Their definition of EMERGENCY at this General ER is absurd. After being brought in by an ambulance after a faint/seizure episode - still not sure what to call what happened to me.. we were there for 6 HOURS!! and still didn't even see a doctor to find out what the test results were. I understand it didn't appear to be a life/death situation with me vs other patients at that time, but even with putting more traumatic patients ahead of a 'fainter/seizure" ...should it take over 6 hours?

On Saturday, May 28, I entered what must have been a fugue state and swallowed a lot of pills, although I had not been upset and have no idea why I did so. A friend found me and called 911. I was admitted to HHS in a completely incoherent state. I have no idea what I said to them about what had happened. The entirety of that night was torture: I had uncontrollable muscle spasms, but one nurse was completely nasty to me about my inability to hold still. I had to urinate horribly but could not get anyone to help me go. They left me alone all night in a room without even giving me a call button, and I was in agony.

I went to the ER while I was pregnant and I was having pretty bad stomach pain, but the entire staff that dealt with my situation was completely rude and the Dr. told me I had a hemorrhage and would have a miscarriage. I went to my OB the next morning and they told me they had no idea what he saw to make him give that diagnosis. Completely wrong and have my husband and I a huge scare over nothing.

Absolute worst ER experience ever. Took me 10 hours to be seen, and I was in exruciating pain. Got to see the doctor, just for them to tell me there's nothing I can do and take ibuprofen. Ibuprofen, Tylenol, and everything else didn't work which was why I was at the ER in the first place. Totally waste of my time AND a $150 copay the first hour I got there, and I guarantee they'll send me a GREAT sized bill that they'll make me pay...when they literally did NOTHING. Good thing what I had wasn't considered deadly or else I would've died in the waiting lobby. You literally have to go in an ambulance to get seen at a decent time, but you'd also pay for that ambulance. WORST HOSPITAL I've ever been to and pretty poor customer service from a lot of the staff.

Worst ER experience ever. My daughter was an idol patient while waiting over 12 hours on the ER to be seen for middle/left abdominal pain. Had she not paid her $250.00 copay and had lab work done..we would have left to seek help elsewhere. After the 1/2 day wait she saw a doctor around 2 am. I had to ask for more care to be provided past a GI cocktail...which was useless. She was treated like a drug seeker. Then when asked if she wanted dilaudid, and she didn't even know what that was....they realized may be she was indeed not your run of the mill...late night pain med fan. May be the fact that she had signed in 12 hours earlier, when the "late night druggies" aren't up yet, would have flagged them to that fact. During our wait, in the Antarctica, also known as the ER waiting room. I witnessed a fall by a patient being called for her 5th or 6th vital sign re-check(this pt eventually gave up being care for & left) Another patient nearly fell from her wheelchair after being left at the registration desk, by a hospital employee, while waiting for her caregivers to park. I jumped from me sit to help catch her, and then the young man behind the desk noticed and ran to the front of her chair to assist. Many people came and went after hours of waiting to finally just give up. Five patients, that arrived after my hurting daughter, pitched a fit at the desk. They were then carried through Triage room 1 doors.....not to return again until they were leaving with their discharge paperwork. It was only after this that I went to the desk to ask if my daughter could get some medication to help keep her from vomiting as we wait, and did they have any idea how much longer it would take. After all the wait, and all the judgement....she was sent home with a referral. Pain, vomiting, and no answers.

My best friend passed away from pneumonia at Huntsville Hospital this summer. Dr. Okinedo admitted him in July when he already had severe pneumonia. Dr. Okinedo went back and changed the medical record from my friend's previous hospitalization to cover up the fact that he knew he had pneumonia in June and did not treat it. The pneumonia went untreated for twenty-one days from the time the doctor discovered it. When Dr. Okinedo admitted him in July he diagnosed "hospital-acquired pneumonia" as if my friend had picked up pneumonia during his previous hospitalization. Dr. Okinedo had told him that he had pneumonia at the very beginning of his hospital stay in June. The nurses told him he had pneumonia at the same time. Everyone who cared for him in June was aware of this diagnosis from the very beginning of the hospital stay.

Huntsville Hospital is horrible. Please don't go there. When I went, I waited for 3 hours before I got into a room. The nurse that took us back was so rude. The next nurse that gave me an IV missed my vein the first time, but was digging the needle around in my arm because she wasn't even sure if she was in the right spot!! It hurt for a week after. She also left all the wrappers and trash she used to take my blood on the counter in the room. Some of it actually HAD blood on it. So unsanitary!! Then it was just a waiting game. For five. more. hours. The nurse that took me back for x-rays actually said aloud that they weren't that busy that night!! >:( It was really frustrating to wait that long, and then they couldn't even identify what my pain was. Please go to a different hospital. Someone who is in pain should NOT be waiting for hours and hours.

our corrrupt sheriffs department sent me to the mental ward because i tried to report a corrupt deputy. huntsville hospital immediately shot me with drugs and kept me for five days trying to force feed me drugs i did not want to take.they denide me phone calls and visitors for 5 days which is against thew law i think.you cannot convince those idiots on the third floor that you are not crazy and do not need their drugs,which they call meds.
